INFO
The Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé breathes high performance, technical leadership, supreme appeal and absolute luxury. It’s both motorsport thrill and everyday practicality all at once. Is that unexpected? No – it's exactly the vehicle you've been waiting for.
Performance As logical as it is impressive
There’s no escaping the laws of physics. But you can skirt the limits in a controlled, high-performance vehicle that’s anything but ordinary – the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé. Its 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine boasts numerous motorsport materials and components, all built according to the "one man, one engine" principle. The powertrain thrills with explosive strength and impresses with ample power reserves in all aspects.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G is just one of many components that make it all possible. The transmission handles everything from relaxed cruising to sporty gear shifting: for a thoroughly captivating driving experience. In combination with an ultra-modern rear-axle electric motor, this extraordinary sports coupé produces as a plug-in hybrid even higher torque and unites the dynamic acceleration of all AMG GT Coupés with even more breath-taking lateral dynamics.
Power distribution As powerful as it is controlled
AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive connects the constantly powered rear axle with the front axle – to ensure great dynamics and full variability. Welcome to the perfect balance of uncompromising control and a radically unyielding rear-wheel drive. At the same time, the AMG-specific electronic limited-slip differential on the rear axle optimally distributes power between the wheels when cornering, continually readapting to the driving situation at hand. Even the brakes contribute to the dynamics: the highly heat-resistant and lightweight composite brake discs facilitate precision braking with just the right amount of power for excellent deceleration performance. And both driving dynamics and turn-in behaviour benefit from the low weight and reduced unsprung mass.
Driving dynamics As light as it is punchy
Borrowed from motorsport: multiple details profit from the material mix of aluminium, steel, magnesium and fibre composites for maximum rigidity, top performance and weight savings. Among other things, an aluminum frame and a carbon-fibred bracing on the axle beams are used. In addition, numerous active aerodynamic measures redirect the smallest of airflows to optimise dynamics. The active aerodynamic profile is directly from Formula 1: thanks to the so-called Venturi effect, the vehicle literally sucks itself toward the road, particularly in the curves, while the active, variably extendable rear spoiler ensures the perfect balance between downforce and drag.
Performance Hybrid As ultralight as it is powerful
Premier class innovation: the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE features an electric motor with an additional 150 kW directly on the rear axle. The 6.1 kW lithium-ion battery is inspired by Formula 1™ and has been specially developed by Mercedes-AMG. This ultra-light, liquid-cooled, high-performance battery always maintains the optimum temperature, is designed for particularly high and fast energy absorption and aims to maximise power delivery in hybrid mode. The result: driving dynamics on a whole new level. In all-electric mode, on the other hand, you can enjoy relaxed, locally emission-free driving – a great advantage in city centres with vehicle access restrictions.
Performance sound As striking as it is distinctive
In SPORT+ mode, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G not only delivers distinctively dynamic gear shifting, but also a prominent intermediate throttle kick. And with AMG Real Performance Sound, you get the entire appeal and soundscape of the mighty powertrain directly in the cabin: for a feeling somewhere between feisty and spine-chilling.

- Mercedes no longer offers drift and fun driving options. Why are you releasing this? It's not cool, and marketing won't save you if you keep doing things like this.- In terms of Exterior aesthetics alone, I think that Mercedes AMG GT55 and GT63 are better than the likes of Bentley continental gt, and Porsche 911, Nissan GTR... I'll die on that hill😊
- Love hearing about your Mercedes-AMG CLE adventures! Ötztal is epic, but thanks for the Himmelsjoch tip, we're always looking for the next thrill!
