This armored vehicle is based on the NIMR JAIS 6×6, which will be produced at the EM&E Group facility in Linares, Jaen province and adapted to the needs of European armed forces.

The FEROX 6x6 is designed for operation in harsh warfighting environments. The system combines protection against ballistic threats, landmines, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) with tactical mobility suitable for a wide range of missions.
As a modern combat vehicle, the JAIS 6×6/FEROX 6×6 is designed as a highly flexible platform, capable of being developed into an APC, IFV, Commando, or Ambulance version.

Yes, Spain produces the FEROX 6x6 combat vehicle through a strategic technology transfer agreement with the UAE.

Key details of the production agreement include: Manufacturer: The Spanish company EM&E Group (Escribano Mechanical and Engineering) manufactures the vehicle at its facility in Linares, Jaén.

Original Designer: The FEROX is based on the JAIS 6x6, a mission-proven Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle designed by NIMR, a subsidiary of the UAE's state-owned EDGE Group. Licensing Terms: The agreement, formalized in 2025, grants EM&E Group design authority and the rights to manufacture, adapt, and distribute the platform within the European market.

Capabilities: The FEROX is designed for high-intensity operations, offering protection against ballistic threats, landmines, and IEDs. It can be configured with various weapon systems, such as the Guardian 2.0 Pro turret featuring a 30mm chain gun and anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).

Spain’s defense industry just took a bold step forward with the debut of the FEROX 6x6 armored vehicle at FEINDEF 2025 in Madrid. Developed by Spanish defense group EM&E under a technology transfer agreement with UAE’s NIMR Automotive , the FEROX is more than just a rebranded platform — it’s a potential replacement for Spain’s troubled Dragón 8x8 program.

Armed with cutting-edge weapon systems like the Guardian Secutor RWS and Guardian 2.0 Pro turret , including a 30mm Bushmaster chain gun and anti-tank missile launcher , the FEROX shows serious firepower and tactical flexibility. Just days before FEINDEF, EM&E conducted live firing trials — proving its combat readiness.

With plans to build the FEROX at a new facility in Linares, Spain , this could mark EM&E’s official entry into the armored fighting vehicle (AFV) market. Will the Spanish MoD choose the FEROX over foreign platforms like the GDELS Piranha V ? Watch the full breakdown to find out!

- When is a civilian version of this going to be available? I'm getting bored with my Humvee. I just need something to get groceries with. My wife would like a roof turret but, between you and me, it's not a must-have. (She can be pretty hostile to other drivers.)

- Just a little clarification, the 90 km/h announced is just to correspond to French law for vehicles over 20 tonnes and to be able to drive on the road and motorway network. In "combat mode" the vehicle exceeds 120 km/h. Just a button to push to switch it from "peacetime mode" to "war mode".

As of 2025 the Griffon will be delivered to the Belgian Army . The Belgian Army is already training with the French Army on the Scorpion program. Thanks to the Scorpion program and similar training the Belgian Army will have the same fire and fighting power as the French on Battalion and Brigade level (including Caesar newest artellery system)
