The 2027 BMW iX3 is the first vehicle to integrate control of the drive system and control of driving dynamics into one single unit, appropriately named the BMW Heart of Joy. This central computer works alongside BMW Dynamic Performance Control Software to coordinate every process in milliseconds, ensuring exceptional control and confidence-inspiring driving, including a revolutionary Soft Stop function.
Electric drive, intelligent control.
The BMW iX3 is powered by two specially designed 800V electric motors that feature sixth-generation eDrive technology. Positioned at the front and rear axles, these motors engage during accelerating and braking, precisely delivering the necessary power based on driving conditions. This intelligent all-wheel drive system enables dynamic, efficient driving, even on challenging terrain.
Innovative battery technology.
With system voltage of 800V, energy-dense lithium-ion round cells and innovative integration, the sixth-generation batteries offer increased energy storage and rapid charging capabilities. Thanks to the chassis architecture, these batteries are securely and compactly installed in the vehicle’s underbody.
A combination of light and space.
The available large panoramic glass sunroof lets light flood into your BMW, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. Tinted climate comfort glass also prevents the interior from overheating on warm summer days, with multi-layered design absorbing sunlight and providing protection from UV and infrared rays. An available sun shade may also be purchased from your BMW Center.

The iX3’s generous interior design and bespoke electric vehicle architecture ensures rear passengers get plenty of space to stretch. Backrests can be angled anywhere from 23 to 31 degrees, letting you prioritize seating or storage, whichever you need most. When packing long or bulky objects, fold down seats individually for a 40/20/40 split.

- Re Range: Vehicle data sheet as shown on another YT video states a consumption of 15.6kWh/100km, which gives a range of about 600 km in the test cycle, or about 80% of that in the real world at 500 km or 300 miles. It's very misleading to make a statements such as "up to 500 miles range" as such statements completely distorts the perception of people who may not have owned an EV before and don't understand how to interpret the standardised test cycle results that manufacturers must quote.It's doubly disappointing that such misleading claims are being propagated by main dealers. Plus ca change....
- I have owned several generations of bmw designs except for the current huge grill era. I like the new design but if I was a bmw designer , I would have made the headlight with corona amber lights and white head lights .
