MORE INFO
Can’t afford luxury transportation? The new 9th generation Nissan Sentra offers the luxury of transportation, starting at $23,845 (yup, including destination). That’s something of a unicorn in today’s new-car market. And while Tom Voelk checks out a fully loaded SR at just under $32K, know that all Sentras come with the same engine, transmission and suspension, so the experience is similar top to bottom. For buyers that need the peace of mind a new car with a warranty brings, Sentra might be the answer. Of course, there are others to cross shop- Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Kia K4, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Jetta. Or a pre-owned car if you're comfortable finding on that's in good shape...

The Nissan Sentra has quietly evolved into one of the most sensible and well-rounded compact sedans on the road today. In this in-depth Future Wheels review, we take a closer look at what makes the Sentra such a practical choice for everyday drivers — from its refined exterior styling to its tech-focused and surprisingly spacious interior.

We explore how Nissan’s clean, mature design language gives the Sentra a more premium road presence than you might expect, breaking down the details that elevate it beyond a typical economy sedan. Inside, we dive deep into the cabin experience, highlighting the large 12.3-inch infotainment system, available digital gauge cluster, comfort-focused seating, and thoughtful layout that makes daily driving easier and more enjoyable.

Performance-wise, we discuss the familiar 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission, focusing on smoothness, fuel efficiency, and real-world usability rather than raw speed. We also cover the Sentra’s safety and driver-assistance features, explaining how Nissan’s technology helps reduce stress during commuting and highway driving.

If you’re considering a compact sedan and wondering how the Nissan Sentra compares to rivals like the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, or Hyundai Elantra, this review gives you a clear and honest breakdown of its strengths, compromises, and overall value.

- Honestly this is a pretty good deal. Of course there are people complaining about CVT, but I think they overlook the fact that Civic and K4 and Elantra also use CVT these days
- I remember I bought a new 2008 civic si in 07, at that time Nissan had a tuner version of the Sentra that a friend had. I admire the car for what it was. They sadly don’t make cars that cheap and fun to drive anymore. Both cars were manual with no such talk of mark ups… how times have changed!
- I was just looking at one we received at work. It's rather interesting in person when you can really see the shaping of the sheet metal, some unusual details there. it certainly looks more substantial though I'd have loved to have seen it next to the previous MY Sentra or an Altima for comparison. It is a rather interesting car, and in the SV trim it didn't have the unusual face that the SR does.

21/22/23 SR dual tone looks soooo much better, 24 looked blobby and now this ! (Interior on this new 26 is pretty cool though)
Get a "normal 6gear or EV ...dear I hope for a RWD" you'd crush the market, ...we're tired of the SUV trend
VERY HAPPY 89k miles full spec 2 tone 22SR owner here
