Engine Features
1340cc in-line 4-cylinder fuel-injected, liquid-cooled DOHC engine is fed by Suzuki’s Ride-by-Wire 43mm Electronic Throttle body system. To improve power and torque output in the low- to mid-range, there are four additional Suzuki Side Feed Injectors (S-SFI).

The two Suzuki Ram Air Direct (SRAD) intake ducts in the upper fairing route high-pressure, fresh air to the air cleaner boosting performance as speed increases.

The pistons, connecting rods, and crankshaft are designed to have reduced mass, and a gear-driven balancer shaft, all to minimize vibrations, contributing to greater durability.

The engine is designed from advanced materials and employs unique technology to improve durability and efficiency. Review the complete product brochure for more information on specific engine features.

Transmission Features
The Hayabusa has the latest version of the Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) clutch that delivers a lighter clutch lever pull than ever before. SCAS serves as a back-torque-limiting system for smooth downshifts while increasing plate tension during acceleration to ensure engine power is effectively transmitted to the rear wheel.

The Hayabusa’s six-speed, close-ratio, and constant-mesh transmission can be shifted conventionally or with the bi-directional quick shift system allowing the rider to select racing-style, conventional, or casual riding clutchless shifts.

Hydraulic clutch activation further reduces the lever pull while providing the rider a good sense of the clutch’s friction zone.

- Now it needs a chip to unlock the stupid 300 kmh speed limit..I have been riding sport bikes since '99. Started on a GSX-R 750..I believe that was the first year they were fuel injected. ( note to all new riders, I say I started on a Gixxer 750 but I started riding dirt bikes at age 6 and then went to less powerful street bikes ) I have always ridden a GSX-R but im 52 now and had a 115 mph highside years back that is starting to show everytime i go out to ride....We usually go on Sundays and its 60 miles down to a mountain top highway with virtually zero traffic and no law enforcement, but it is 52 miles of knee dragging corners...And by the time we get back to normal highway my hands and hips are killing me..Im about ready to go to a 'Busa...After years of writing them off for the twisties i finally figured out that with a little more effort on the bar that I can have just as much fun on a 'Busa as i can on a Gixxer 1000...Your not going to beat a 1000 in the corners but for my old beat up body, im willing to lose a .1 of a second per corner, i will just reel them back in on the straights...

- Just had a buddy crash one of these at like 50 MPH and it cracked all the frame welds in each spot in the frame aft of the triple clamp... albeit, you're not supposed to crash, but cracking every weld on the front end... ill stay away from Suzuki

- I loved the early Suzukis(specifically GSXRs) when they had bikes with dual headlights. As soon as they went to the pointy-ass, single headlight the aesthetic appeal was totally lost on me. They really tanked it.
