In this episode, Imogen Bhogal travels to Gothenburg to take a closer look at Volvo’s latest EV and there’s a lot to say! The EX60 is built on Volvo’s new SPA3 platform, featuring mega-casting technology that boosts energy density by up to 20%.
She also dives into the advanced 800-volt architecture, enabling rapid 10–80% charging in just 19 minutes, and the large 112 kWh battery that makes those super long journeys possible.
Imogen explores the EX60’s “Goldilocks” design, practical 523-litre boot, new infotainment system, and Volvo’s latest AI-powered safety features before taking a little look at the Cross Country Variant too!

- That's such a weird video, because the older models are bad, this one's going to be better? Volvo used to have the best values: Human's in focus, first and foremost. That meant ergonomics, safety, practicality and quality. Even on the EX60 Volvo hasn't learned that buttons are the only way to go, proper door handles are gone (!), and frameless doors will freeze onto the car, there are a few practical solutions here and there, but certainly nothing new, and in a 4.8m long car, the second row is still too tight. Up to 22 inch wheels! That's madness. And quality...we'll see if it's as terrible as the EX90 or as good as the outgoing XC60. I love electric cars and converted a long time ago. I used to love Volvos, too. Unfortunately, Volvos haven't been up to standard, at all.
