An ingenious and unique ultra-modular living space ELO Concept Car Citroen | ShortsCars

The Citroën ELO concept car is an innovative "laboratory of ideas" that operates under the philosophy of "small is the new big," boasting a compact length of only 4.10 meters. It is designed to be more than just transport, facilitating a life on the move, which is reflected in its name ELO, standing for Rest, Play, Work.

Utilizing a 100% electric architecture with the motor positioned at the rear, the ELO maximizes interior volume, offering up to six comfortable seats with a centrally positioned, 360° rotating driver's seat. Its extreme modularity allows the interior to transform into configurations such as a mobile office, a home cinema room, or a sleeping space for two using Decathlon Dropstitch inflatable mattresses stored in the boot. The vehicle's design incorporates technical and sustainable materials, resulting from partnerships with Decathlon and Goodyear, notably using expanded polypropylene for the bumpers and smart Goodyear tires equipped with the SightLine monitoring system.

A bold and unique architecture combined with exceptional modularity allows ELO to offer a versatility rarely seen.

A unique driving position
ELO takes advantage of this unique architecture to place the driver's seat in a central front position. This original driving position allows the driver to enjoy new driving sensations with extended visibility. This choice also promotes fluidity and movement on board thanks to its height of 1.70 m, which allows easy access and movement inside. The steering column is moved forward as far as possible, freeing up exceptional interior space. The driver's seat rotates 360° to adapt perfectly to the different configurations available on board, whether for driving, working or interacting with other occupants.

A modern, clever and ergonomic cockpit
The ease of use on board the ELO is also reflected in its instrumentation. This new concept designed by Citroën is based on the principle of projecting information onto a dedicated surface. In the previous Oli concept from 2022, information and applications were projected onto the "Smartband", a wide horizontal band positioned at the bottom of the windscreen. In 2025, with ELO, Citroën is developing a new version of this display. The flat screens are reflected on a transparent screen equipped with a reflective film, creating a magical effect: the colourful information appears to float transparently across the entire width of the windscreen, allowing the driver to access all the information without taking their eyes off the road. This new display requires much less expensive technology in terms of development and potential production than a conventional head-up display.

The integration of a single-spoke steering wheel with a double flat section, introduced for the first time on the 1955 DS, enhances the visibility of the instrumentation thanks to its wide opening. Comfortable to hold, it is equipped with two joystick-shaped buttons that allow access to and control of all the digital instrumentation functions. Easy to use, it enhances the feeling of serenity on board. Exemplary modularity
Row 2 offers three seats, all of the same width and equipped with folding backrests. The three rear seats are removable and can be converted into easily removable armchairs for use as extra seats outdoors. Two additional seats are concealed under the side seats in row 2. They unfold with a simple movement to nestle slightly behind the driver's seat on either side. The legroom in these two additional seats is generous. In this six-seat configuration, the boot space is not affected, thanks to the ingenious modularity of the various seats. The four side doors open in opposite directions, and the absence of a center pillar provides easy access with a width of 1.92 meters. The completely flat floor makes it easy to move around inside, regardless of the configuration chosen.

- Citroën, please, if you happen to see my comment, please make this car go into production. It looks fantastic, and I think that only by taking risks can you stand out from the competition. Do it for yourselves, for Citroën fans, and for France. Thank you 😊 - Hoping this is the return of the glorious Picasso monospaces - so much more funky and useful than those generic, bland and pointless SUVs.
