This more powerful 2026 VW Tiguan Turbo model which is only available on the top trim has a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. Standard AWD and you can use regular fuel.
The base 2026 VW Tiguan is a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 201 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, standard AWD in Canada. In the US FWD and AWD models are available. You will get a little less torque for FWD models, 207 lb-ft.
Volkswagen released the all-new Tiguan this year, we really enjoyed driving this SUV with the base engine which also got a little more power for 2025, a welcome addition.
Compared to the outgoing model, the 2026 VW Tiguan Turbo is lighter, 1.7” shorter, half an inch wider and the wheelbase remains the same, so you still have the same interior space as the old model. The styling looks good with its shorter overhangs, slimmer headlamps and the available front lightbar is a great addition.

- Yes it's a low car compared to other SUV, but it has good road presence. It has the looks of a station wagon, if you want to put it that way.- How's the NVH in the cabin? There was grunt from the engine when you were pushing it beyond 4-5k rpm which is fine but seems like wind noise is creeping into the cabin. What is your opinion as the camera/audio can be dilutional
