Lexus offers two types of electrified ES models: all-electric (referred to as Battery Electric, Battery EVs, BEVs, or simply EVs) and hybrid.

WHY DRIVE AN ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLE?
All-electric vehicles can offer drivers convenience, potential savings, and eliminate CO2 tailpipe emissions. They're also fun to drive, courtesy of the immediate torque response from the electric motors, available DIRECT4 all-wheel drive technology, as well as the smooth acceleration and quiet cabin.
All-electric vehicles can also be conveniently charged at home, overnight and on-demand, as well as at public charging stations when out and about. No more trips to the gas station required. In addition to potential fuel savings, drivers may also be able to enjoy a state tax credit, as well as the routine maintenance savings typical of an all-electric powertrain compared to those of an internal combustion engine vehicle. Of course, an all-electric Lexus is designed to provide owners even more. In addition to the driver-inspired craftsmanship, attention to detail and intuitive technology that have always set Lexus apart, every electrified Lexus is supported by an expansive dealer network that's world-renowned for its unrivaled care and unparalleled expertise.
WHAT IS THE ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLE DRIVING EXPERIENCE LIKE?
Thanks to the use of electric motors instead of internal combustion engines, all-electric vehicles provide smooth acceleration, immediate torque response and a surprisingly quiet ride experience.
HOW FAR WILL AN ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLE GO?
The driving range rating of an all-electric vehicle will vary depending on how/where you drive, charging habits, accessory use, outside temperature and other factors. Battery capacity also decreases with time and use, which will reduce range.
WHAT CAN IMPACT DRIVING RANGE?
Gradual acceleration, flat terrain, and even pre-conditioning the temperature of your Lexus while it's plugged in can potentially have a positive effect on driving range. However, please note that all-electric driving range may decrease significantly depending on speed, outside temperature, accessory use, how/where you drive, charging habits and other factors. Battery capacity also decreases with time and use, which will reduce range.
HOW DOES THE WEATHER AFFECT DC FAST CHARGING?
2026 ES DC charging times will increase as the battery temperature decreases, with significant increases possible at temperatures below freezing. For example, at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, DC fast charging times can increase by approximately 1.5 to 2 times. Charging times will vary based on various factors including accessory use, battery level and condition, and charger specifications.
HOW FREQUENTLY CAN I DC FAST CHARGE?
In order to help ensure effective charging and preserve battery health over the life of the vehicle, no more than three DC fast charging sessions a day are recommended. After three DC charging sessions, a threshold can be reached which may result in reduced DC charging speed.
Over time, the battery will gradually recover. One additional high-speed DC charge can be completed after approximately 6 hours, with complete recovery occurring over the next day. During the recovery time, vehicle driving performance and Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging capabilities remain unchanged.
In general, please keep in mind that over time, use of DC fast charging will degrade the battery more than Level 1 or Level 2 charging.

- Crazy that the Ultra Luxury trim isn’t available for the hybrid, which is for sure going to outsell the EV models. Whatever product manager in Plano, TX decided that needs to throw out a mea culpa.- As a 7th-generation ES owner, the 8th generation is really bad. The design is ugly and not luxurious at all. It's such a shame that LEXUS made it like this.
- When this sells poorly just know it’s because it was designed poorly, not because it’s a sedan :)
- Electric and touchscreens…hard pass….those screens are cheap to build expensive to replace, Analog dashes with a small screen for connectivity would be a popular option..
