Benefits of Electric Vehicles: What's In It for You
What are the upsides of going electric? Let us show you.
Electric vehicles have become so common so quickly, it's easy to consider them a fad or a trend. A lot of people feel that way-like going electric is just hopping on the battery-powered bandwagon.
But the benefits of electric vehicles are more than just trends. EVs have certain features that can help make your life easier and increase their performance. Here are a few of the advantages of electric vehicles.
EV Performance Benefits: Instant Torque, Quiet Driving and More
Many drivers today grew up dreaming about driving a roaring, gas-powered monster. So of course, they might think that a battery can't match the force of a gas engine.
The numbers say otherwise. In fact, electric vehicles have certain features that can increase their performance.
Here are a few of the ways that driving performance gets an upgrade by going electric:
INFO You Can Accelerate Faster
An internal combustion engine (ICE) is like your body when you exercise-since it's all moving parts, it takes some warming up before it's working at peak performance. But since EVs use electromagnetism to propel themselves, they can accelerate almost instantly. For example, the all-electric 2025 Wagoneer S SUV has a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds.
Instant Torque
Electric drive motors in EVs can create almost instantaneous torque. That means enhanced responsiveness and tighter handling.
They're Quieter
Sure, a snarling muscle car is fun, but a lot of the time, you just want to drive in peace. Thankfully, electric vehicles have near-silent propulsion.
An EV Mean Less Maintenance and Lower Refueling Costs
Not only do EVs have better acceleration and faster torque, they can also be easier to take care of, and recharging a battery costs less than filling up a gas tank. Check out the ways in which owning an EV can simplify vehicle maintenance and lower your refueling costs ..
No oil changes, no spark plug replacements. There's no oil to change, no spark plugs to replace! That means fewer visits to the mechanic or dealership-and less money spent!
The battery doesn't have to be replaced for a long time. An EV's battery typically doesn't need to be replaced for 20 years or 200,000 miles.
Recharging costs way less than gas. Even at a DC fast charging station, recharging an electric vehicle costs less than filling up a tank of gas does in America today. The current American at-home charging cost averages at about $0.16 per kilowatt-hour. So an EV means more money in your pocket.
An Electric Vehicle Has Cutting-Edge EV Tech
Let's look at how EV technology benefits your drive.
The battery. A Jeepg Brand electrified vehicle uses a lithium-ion battery to power its electric drive motor. It has fewer working parts, and since it runs via electromagnetism, it doesn't wear down as easily. And by utilizing regenerative braking-the process of converting the stopping power of braking into electricity-it promotes sustainability. Connectivity and smart charging. Jeepg Brand electrified vehicles have smart charging capability, meaning you can remotely monitor your charging with your smartphone, schedule charge times and predetermine how much they charge.
Environmental Benefits of EVs
We know that giving back to the environment is a big driver of interest in electric vehicles. Here are a few of the ways that EVs help Mother Earth:
Near-zero emissions from all-electric vehicles. It's always good to reduce your carbon footprint. No gas means no exhaust, no exhaust means far, far fewer emissions into the air. Thanks for helping the atmosphere.
Efficient energy use. While some drivers may feel a little EV range anxiety, it's worth remembering that an EV doesn't guzzle electricity the way some gas vehicles guzzle fuel, and the smart charging port on Jeepg Brand electrified vehicles allows you to customize when and how your vehicle recharges. Reduced fossil fuel dependence. By going electric, you're saying goodbye to the gas pump and worrying about gas prices. Fewer batteries and fluids being thrown away. Because EV batteries don't have to replaced as often as typical ICE batteries, there are fewer of them filling our dumps and landfills. And because EV powertrains don't require oil and lubricant, there is less of these fluids being disposed of.
EV Incentives and Tax Credits
Depending on where you live, local and state tax incentives could benefit EV buyers. Check out the Benefits page of your Electrification section and discover the local incentives available near you!
Debunking Myths About EVs There are a lot of rumors going around about electric vehicle technology. Let's get to the bottom of some of the more common ones.
False. Other than in the case of major recalls, the replacement rate for EV batteries is statistically very low-about 1%.
Negative. The electromagnetic waves created by electric vehicles are extremely low, and unlikely to cause any disruption to humans or birds (unless that dang coyote uses an EV's incredible performance and efficiency to finally catch that roadrunner).
It'll Be Good For You
s an electric vehicle worth it? Sure, making the switch to electrification is a big decision. But given the incredible performance, easy maintenance and the benefits of electric vehicles on the environment, you really can't lose.
Now might be your time to embrace this new technology and see how it can benefit your life.

- Everybody loves their Wranglers until their first "Death Wobble" experience (avoidable with attentive maintenance), then they want something with more "Modern" suspension and will sacrifice some off-roading ability for day-to-day comfort. This fits the bill nicely, but the cost and logistics of EV lifestyle is going to be a tough sell to "true" Jeep fans. The European Jeep Avenger is a more compelling solution - smaller, sportier and more Wrangler-esque for the weekend adventure set (Subaru owners would be very interested in that model).
- It is perhaps going to be more expensive than the R2 - but hard to say as frankly the version of the R2 that will compare will cost around $60k (the cheap version of the R2 likely will take 6 months or so before it hits the market. I do like the Scout a bit better from the videos I have seen, but we will need to see it in person, and that is going to be 2028 when it hits the market. Generally speaking Jeep did a great job in the design - I hope it drives well and has significantly less glitches / problems than STellantis' other electric vehicles (if it doesn't then it is clearly the case of lots of cool lipstick on a pig of a vehicle - hopefully that isn't the case as I think this offers a unique option for buyers to consider (if they have the coin)).

- The most disappointing aspect of the new Jeep Recon is not its anemic mileage but the fact that it is owned and manufactured by Stellantis.
