On Sweden's National Day, June 6, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut delivered another historic performance at Koenigsegg's home airfield in Ängelholm, Sweden.
Piloted by factory test driver Markus Lundh and verified by Racelogic, the Jesko Absolut set new all-out production car top speed records for both the quarter-mile and half-mile, as well as new non-EV production car records for both distances' times - covering the quarter-mile in just 8.54 seconds at 305 km/h (190 mph), and the half-mile in 12.76 seconds at 373 km/h (232 mph).
Both top speeds are the fastest ever recorded for a production car.
This remarkable run also marks the first time in history that a production car has exceeded 300 km/h over the quarter-mile - and the Absolut did so with a healthy margin. All of this on an unprepped surface, on production car tires, and with power going to the rear wheels only.
The performance was made possible by new software advancements that will be rolled out via OTA update to the entire Absolut fleet.
Absolutely Remarkable!
Results: 1/4 mile: 8.54 seconds @ 305 km/h (190 mph) and 1/2 mile: 12.76 seconds @ 373 km/h (232 mph)

Mat and the team have flown over to Sweden, and they’re about to run the Jesko Absolut against the Regera at Koenigsegg’s own test track! So let’s see how the two compare.
Starting with the Jesko Absolut, it’s powered by a 5-litre twin-turbo V8, and when running on E85, it produces 1,600hp and 1,500Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 9-speed multi-clutch gearbox, and the car weighs in at 1,390kg. As new, it costs around £5,000,000.
Then we have the Regera. It’s also powered by a 5-litre twin-turbo V8, but it’s also fitted with three electric motors! When these combine and the car’s running E85, it produces 1,500hp and 2,000Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a single-speed torque converter gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,590kg. As new, it costs around £3,000,000.

- "Why don't they let Absolut run at its maximum speed?"."What we've been waiting for for a long time is a video showing whether Absolut can beat the speed record currently held by the BYD Yangwang U9X, which is considered the world's fastest car."- It is mind blowing that you can do an 8.5 second 1/4 mile with a 2.3 second 0-60 mph. That launch is crippling your time and yet you make it all up after 60 mph. Absolutely insane top end acceleration. Great job! This truly is a fantastic result especially for a RWD car on a non prepped surface.
- pants little on fire there
the Jesko Absolut is clearly one trick pony. Made to maximize straight line performance.
Indeed, it make also sense, as the rich folks buying it, at most, will just use it in straight line acceleration/races.
If, as it is, it will lap the top gear track faster than the Attack, then I will take it back! :-P
- I think it is interesting how this car is in a different league compared to the Hennessey F5. That car is so crude in comparison. Sure it has massive power but is not nearly as cleverly engineered as this. The transmission in this is mindblowing.
